Recent Work
After completing Painting the Year in 2022 and its exhibition in May 2023, I relocated to the Cotswolds where I embarked upon a season of creative wintering, allowing myself to be playful and exploratory with all I had learned about the landscape.
I began to explore the idea of examining the landscape at night and the concept of light in the darkness. This led me to paint night paintings and light fires in my garden.
Looking at fire and darkness, and how the imagery of these interact with my Christian faith and the metaphores used to describe a faith journey, have developed into a body of work, including a triptych and installation pieces that will be displayed at St Mary's Church, Chipping Norton, as part of Oxfordshire Art Weeks 2025. Alongside my ongoing landscape practice that has become more expressive and playful as I have fully embraced my own creative heart.
