Portfolio

In 2020 I graduated with an MA in Contemporary Art Practice from Plymouth University. I was long listed for the Jackson’s Painting Prize, 2021 and 2022. I was Artist in residence at the National Trust’s Bucks Mills Artist Cabin in August 2022 and the inaugural visual artist in residence for Appledore Book Festival in September 2022. I has been featured in Devon Life Magazine and on BBC Spotlight and have been a regular guest on BBC Radio Devon.

I completed an en plein air project to paint the landscape outside and from life, every day in 2022. This project was highly collaborative, encouraging others to be in the landscape and to paint there.

My move to North Devon at the end of 2016 enabled me to take her work in a new direction, joining the MA programme at Plymouth University. My MA work explored the meanings of motherhood, family and faith in the context of separation and a global pandemic and storytelling.

The last few years have been about establishing my current practice and balancing that with teaching a small number of art classes from my studio.

My work is held in private collections throughout the UK and abroad. I offer one-to-one support and coaching for emerging artists and workshops and wellbeing days for individuals, groups and within the workplace.

Painting the Year

In 2022 I painted en plein air every single day. This resulted In 365 paintings, and a book, that were exhibited in Studio KIND., Barnstaple.

Portraying Pregnancy - MA Portfolio

This work came out of my desire to tell the stories of pregnancy within the context of being able to have and not have children, exploring absorption, loss and the joy of mothering.

Artist in Residence - Bucks Mills

I was lucky enough to be given a residency at the artist's cabin at Bucks Mills by the National Trust. I spent 8 days working in the cabin and on the beach.

Spring Harvest

I have been one of the artists in residence at Spring Harvest, a Christian Festival, at Butlins since 2005. Returning each year to paint in front of thousands each evening and encourage others to connect with their own creativity.
